WATER LINE REPAIRS
Keep Your Water Supply in Top Condition
A single supply water line runs from the street, under your property, and into your home. Just by turning a faucet you have fresh, clean water at your fingertips—for drinking, cooking, cleaning and bathing.
Under normal circumstances, your water line should give you years of trouble-free service. However, if you should notice a sudden drop in water pressure, a discoloration of the water or a recurring wet area develops in your yard, contact your local Rescue Rooter® home plumbing expert to conduct an inspection for possible water line repair or replacement.
Locating the Water Line … and the Leak. There are a variety of reasons why you may need water line repairs or replacement. In some cases, tree roots can get into the pipe. Other causes of water line failure include mineral build up and residue, high water pressure, ground movement, acidic soil conditions, freezing and thawing plus general deterioration over a long period of time.
To determine the exact location of the water line, professionals use an electronic device, and if necessary, the line is charged with nitrogen to find the exact location of the leak. Depending on the size and location, Rescue Rooter® professionals will assess the scope of work necessary to correct the problem before any work begins.
Water Line Repair or Water Line Replacement? In many instances, water line replacement is only needed for a section of line. During water line replacement, faulty sections of pipe are replaced with thick-walled, high-quality copper piping that comes with a 50-year manufacturer’s warranty on material. Once installed, the repaired or replaced water line is pressure tested for leaks. A municipal inspection is performed for final job approval and steps are then taken to restore your property grounds to their original condition.
Contact your local Rescue Rooter® home plumbing specialist today to make sure your supply water line is working properly, or if you suspect water line replacement or repair is needed.
